Frequently asked questions

Are insoles good if you walk a lot?

Yes. Footgel insoles are designed to cushion the impact of every step and distribute pressure more evenly. This helps reduce strain on feet, legs and lower back when you walk for many hours or spend much of the day on the move.

Are Footgel insoles comfortable for walking?

Yes. Footgel Daily Use combines Termocrep-Gel® cushioning with Tecnion® microfiber that aids breathability and improves comfort inside footwear. Its design helps soften your stride and maintain a feeling of comfort in everyday use.

Footgel Daily Use Winter features a layer of merino wool instead of microfiber. It retains warmth in the feet and offers a comfortable, pleasant feel.

Can you use Footgel insoles to walk long distances?

Of course! You can use them for trips, outings and long walks. On these journeys the foot takes repeated impacts over many hours. Footgel helps cushion your stride and reduce accumulated fatigue.

Do walking insoles help relieve foot pain?

Yes. The performance of Footgel insoles is backed by biomechanical studies from independent laboratories, which have shown an improvement in pressure distribution under the foot and in impact cushioning. This helps reduce strain and relieve discomfort in feet and joints.

How do you choose an insole size?

Our insoles are designed in size ranges and can be trimmed, letting you get the perfect fit for your footwear.

Choose the EU size range that includes your usual size (US sizes are approximate):

35 – 38 39 – 42 43 – 47

Exception: Footgel Barefoot, Footgel Daily Use Winter, Footgel Ice Hockey and Footgel Roller Hockey. They come in EU sizes 35–40 (approx. US women’s 4.5–9 · US men’s 2.5–7) and 41–46 (approx. US men’s 8–12.5 · US women’s 10–14.5).

Keep in mind:

  • They run slightly larger than usual. This is intentional, to ensure the insole is never too short inside the shoe.
  • Once you have them, just use your footwear’s original insole as a guide and trim the excess.

Can Footgel insoles be washed?

The vast majority of our models can be machine washed at a maximum of 86 °F (30 °C) on a gentle cycle.

Exception: insoles with merino wool and the antistatic insole. We recommend hand washing them in cold water to help preserve their properties.

Important for drying. Always let the insoles air-dry. Do not use a dryer or place them on radiators or other direct heat sources, as excess heat can affect the structure and properties of the gel.

How long do Footgel insoles last?

Their lifespan depends mainly on how intensively they are used, the type of activity and the care they receive. With daily use, their lifespan is usually between 6 and 12 months, and can be longer with less intensive use.

  • Type of activity: using them day to day is not the same as running, jumping or playing high-intensity sports.
  • Your gait and level of use: each person applies different pressure when walking, working or training.
  • Care: following the washing and drying recommendations helps preserve their materials better and extend their lifespan.
