Frequently asked questions
What are gel insoles for?
They cushion the impact of every step to help relieve foot and joint discomfort. Our gel intelligently adapts to the pressure it receives: when you walk, it's soft and very comfortable, but when you run or jump, it becomes firmer to absorb hard impacts and help reduce strain on your knees and back, without ever losing comfort. Plus, because it's a viscoelastic material, it always returns to its original shape. Unlike ordinary foam insoles, they don't flatten under your weight or lose their cushioning over time.
How do you put in gel insoles?
It's very simple. Just follow these three steps: Take the current insole out of your shoe and place it on top of the gel insole. Using a pen, trace the outline of the insole, then cut along the line to remove the excess. Insert the gel insole into your shoe, making sure the gel side faces down and the fabric faces up. And that's it, your insole is in!
Are insoles good for your feet?
Yes, especially if you spend many hours on your feet, play high-impact sports, or your feet tire easily. You don't need to wait for nagging pain to take care of your feet: They distribute your weight evenly across your foot and reduce pressure on your feet, knees, hips, and lower back. They cushion the impact of every step, helping reduce strain on your feet and joints. They return energy to your stride, reducing the muscular effort needed for any activity. Important! If you have a serious foot condition, the right thing to do is see a podiatrist. In short, they're a great way to improve your everyday comfort and help reduce muscle overload.
How do you choose an insole size?
Our insoles come in size ranges and can be trimmed, so you can get the perfect fit for your shoes. Choose the range that includes your size: 35 – 38 39 – 42 43 – 47 Good to know: They run slightly larger than usual. This is intentional, to make sure the insole is never too short inside your shoe. Once you have them, just use your shoe's original insole as a guide and trim off the excess.
Can the insoles be washed?
Yes, of course! Most of our models can be machine washed at up to 86 °F (30 °C) on a gentle cycle. Exception: insoles with merino wool and the antistatic insole. We recommend hand washing them in cold water to help preserve their properties. Important for drying: Always let the insoles air dry. Don't use a dryer or place them on radiators or other direct heat sources, as excessive heat can affect the structure and properties of the gel.
How long do Footgel insoles last?
How long they last depends mainly on how intensely you use them, the type of activity, and the care they receive. With daily use, they typically last between 6 and 12 months, and they can last longer with less intensive use. Type of activity: everyday wear is not the same as running, jumping, or playing high-intensity sports. Your stride and level of use: everyone applies different pressure when walking, working, or training. Care: following the washing and drying recommendations helps preserve their materials and extend their lifespan.
