Frequently asked questions
What are the best insoles for working on your feet?
Footgel insoles are an excellent choice for working on your feet because they combine cushioning, comfort and relief from tiredness throughout the workday.
Our Termocrep-Gel® 3R technology cushions the impact on your feet and joints, distributes pressure evenly and improves comfort inside work footwear.
Within the Footgel range of work insoles, you can choose from:
- Footgel Works: designed to improve comfort and reduce the muscle fatigue that builds up over the workday.
- Footgel Works Plus: offers extra cushioning for those seeking maximum comfort throughout the day.
- Footgel Military & Police: designed to cushion impact and meet the physical demands of military and police work.
What are the benefits of using insoles if you work on your feet all day?
Working long hours on your feet takes a toll on the body and causes tiredness, especially in the feet, legs and back. Good insoles cushion every step, spread pressure more evenly and provide a greater sense of comfort, making the workday feel less grueling.
- Helps ease back and lower back discomfort: Footgel work insoles cushion the impact your body takes when walking or standing. They help relieve discomfort and the pressure built up in your feet and joints.
- Less tiredness and muscle fatigue: a more comfortable, protected stride reduces the strain your feet and legs bear throughout the day.
- More comfort in work footwear: safety shoes and boots tend to be rigid. Good insoles improve cushioning and comfort inside the footwear.
- More energy when you finish work: getting home less tired means you can better enjoy your free time, go for a walk or make plans after work.
Are they suitable for work boots and safety footwear?
Yes. Footgel Works and Works Plus are designed to help relieve the discomfort and tiredness of working long hours on your feet and to improve comfort inside work shoes, boots and safety footwear.
They help reduce the impact and pressure built up during the day, easing discomfort in feet, legs, back and lower back.
Footgel Military & Police, on the other hand, is designed specifically for military and police boots and the physical demands of these jobs.
What is the difference between Footgel Works and Footgel Works Plus?
Both models feature technical microfiber and Termocrep-Gel® 3R cushioning technology to improve comfort throughout the workday.
The difference is that Footgel Works Plus adds a layer of high-density foam, providing extra cushioning and a greater sense of comfort underfoot.
Footgel Works offers excellent cushioning to improve comfort throughout the workday, while Works Plus is the choice for those seeking extra cushioning and maximum comfort.
How do you choose the size of the work insoles?
Our insoles are designed in size ranges and can be trimmed, letting you get the perfect fit for your footwear.
Choose the EU size range that includes your usual size (US sizes are approximate):
Keep in mind:
- They run slightly larger than usual. This is intentional, to ensure the insole is never too short inside the shoe.
- Once you have them, just use your footwear’s original insole as a guide and trim the excess.
Can Footgel work insoles be washed?
Yes, of course! Most of our models can be machine washed at a maximum of 86 °F (30 °C) on a gentle cycle.
Exception: insoles with merino wool and the antistatic insole. We recommend hand washing them in cold water to help preserve their properties.
Important for drying. Always let the insoles air-dry. Do not use a dryer or place them on radiators or other direct heat sources, as excess heat can affect the structure and properties of the gel.
How long do Footgel work insoles last?
Their lifespan depends mainly on the hours of use, working conditions and the care of the insoles. With daily use, their lifespan is usually between 6 and 12 months, though it can be longer with less intensive use.
- The hours and type of work: using them a few hours a day is not the same as working a full day on your feet or on hard surfaces.
- Your gait: each person applies different pressure on the insoles.
- Care: following the washing and drying recommendations helps preserve the materials better and extend their lifespan.
