Description

Footgel Basketball is a maximum-cushioning insole designed especially for basketball players. It absorbs the impact of jumps and landings, helps ease the load on the joints and improves comfort during play.

EU size is the product’s reference size. US sizes are approximate equivalents and vary by brand. Footgel insoles run slightly large and are trim-to-fit.

Scientific evidence

Footgel Basketball insoles are designed to cushion jumps and landings and better distribute pressure during sprints and changes of direction. Studies in basketball players show significant increases in plantar load during these movements, which makes good cushioning especially important.

Up to 90% more load in changes of direction

In 20 college basketball players, sprints and lay-ups produced increases of up to around 55% in plantar load compared with running. During 45° changes of direction, increases ranged from roughly 23% to 90% depending on the area of the foot.

In a running study, cushioned insoles significantly reduced the impact peak, the loading rate and the acceleration transmitted to the tibia — three variables related to the absorption of impact against the ground.

What are they made of?

How do I care for my Footgel Basketball insoles?

Our basketball insoles can be machine washed at a maximum of 86 °F (30 °C) on a gentle cycle.

Important for drying. Always let the insoles air-dry. Do not use a dryer or place them on radiators or other direct heat sources, as excess heat can affect the structure and properties of the gel.
