Frequently asked questions

Are there Footgel insoles for every sport?

We make a wide range of sports insoles, designed with the impact, movements and specific needs of each sport in mind. We have models for:

  • Padel and tennis: they protect your feet and joints during turns, lateral movements and sharp stops.
  • Football and basketball: they absorb impact in jumps, stops and changes of pace.
  • Running: they cushion impact while running and return energy to your stride.
  • Hiking, trekking, Camino de Santiago and hunting: ideal for walking for hours in maximum comfort, even on steep, uneven terrain.
  • Cross training and functional: they withstand high-intensity training, with jumps and weight loads.
  • Golf: designed to provide comfort during long days of walking.
  • Multisport: a comfortable, versatile option for different activities.

How do Footgel sports insoles help prevent injuries?

Footgel sports insoles cushion impact, distribute plantar pressure more evenly and improve comfort inside sports footwear.

They prevent strain and discomfort in feet, knees, hips and lower back caused by the impacts of sport.

They can also be a useful aid for common complaints such as plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia (pain in the metatarsal area) or discomfort in the heel and sole of the foot.

They do not replace diagnosis or treatment by a healthcare professional, but they do contribute to a more comfortable, protected stride during sport.

How do Footgel sports insoles differ from others?

We make our insoles with a three-layer technology:

Technical microfibre + high-density foam + Termocrep-Gel® 3R

A world-unique formula tested by independent laboratories. Biomechanical studies endorse its efficacy in relieving and preventing pain in feet and joints:

x2
More energy return
Returns energy to your stride to reduce muscle fatigue.
x3
More cushioning
Absorbs impact to protect your feet and joints.
x4
Better pressure distribution
Spreads pressure evenly across the sole of the foot.

Is it good to play sport with insoles?

Yes, as long as they are insoles designed for sport and fit your footwear well.

Footgel sports insoles cushion impact, distribute plantar pressure more evenly and improve comfort inside the trainer.

Each sport demands a different effort from the foot. That is why it is important to choose an insole suited to the type of activity: running, padel, football, tennis, hiking, etc.

Is it good to wear insoles for running?

Yes. It is good to wear insoles for running because with every stride the foot takes repeated impacts against the ground.

Footgel sports insoles provide cushioning and reduce the impact reaching the foot. They also distribute plantar pressure evenly, helping to keep the load from concentrating in areas such as the heel, the metatarsal or the sole of the foot.

Running with Footgel insoles can help protect your stride, improve comfort while running and reduce fatigue in feet and legs.

Do they fit all types of sports footwear?

Our insoles are designed to fit a wide variety of sports footwear.

The important thing is to choose the insole suited to the activity and check it fits well inside the footwear, without compressing the foot or affecting the comfort of the trainer.

How do you choose an insole size?

Our insoles are designed in size ranges and are trimmable, letting you achieve the perfect fit for your footwear.

Choose the range that includes your size:

35 – 38 39 – 42 43 – 47

Things to bear in mind:

  • They run slightly larger than usual. This is intentional, to ensure the insole is never too short inside the shoe.
  • When you receive them, just use your footwear’s original insole as a guide and trim the excess.

Can Footgel sports insoles be washed?

Yes, of course! The vast majority of our models can be machine washed at a maximum of 30 °C on a gentle cycle.

Exception: insoles with merino wool. As they are made with natural fibre, we recommend hand washing them in cold water to help preserve their properties.

Important for drying. Always let the insoles air dry. Do not use a tumble dryer or place them on radiators or other direct heat sources, as excess temperature can affect the gel’s structure and properties.

How long do Footgel sports insoles last?

Their lifespan depends mainly on how intensively they are used, the type of activity and the care they receive. With daily use, their lifespan is usually between 6 and 12 months, and can be longer with less intensive use.

  • Type of activity: using them day to day is not the same as running, jumping or playing high-intensity sports.
  • Your gait and level of use: each person applies different pressure when walking, working or training.
  • Care: following the washing and drying recommendations helps preserve their materials better and extend their lifespan.
